Why Use FM?
- Every house has many FM radio’s in it just ready to tune into your broadcast! Clock radio’s, stereo system, ghetto blasters, walkmans, transistor radio’s, and none of them need any special hardware to make them work.
Why do so many small FM transmitters not work right?
- Mainly its due in part to their design, analog vs. digital. Analog transmitters worked fine in the days when receivers were analog and could stand the signal drifting a bit. Todays digital receivers can not lock into a FM signal if it drifts even a tiny bit. So digital transmitters are required. All our products incorporate the latest in digital transmission techniques. Its a good guess that if they are less than $30-40 they are not going to work and are not digital.
Why not to use systems known as 900MHz and 1.8/2.4GHz microwave systems?
- They are very directional, that is to say the transmitter and the receiver need to point right at each other to work. So if you want to listen to music in 3 different rooms you really can’t as its very hard to point to all 3 at the same time.
- Special hardware required to be connected at every point music is required
- Each additional receiver can cost $50+
- Not easy to connect the microwave hardware to your clock radio!
- Every installation point requires an electrical plug
